What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is the European Union's flagship program that supports education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and beyond. It provides opportunities for students, teachers, trainees, and volunteers to study, train, or gain professional experience abroad, fostering cultural exchange and enhancing employability.

Conditions for Participation

Erasmus+ is open to individuals and organizations from EU member states and partner countries. Eligible participants include university students, recent graduates, teachers, academic staff, vocational education students, apprentices, and youth workers. For students, the main conditions include being enrolled in a higher education institution that is part of the Erasmus+ program, having completed at least one year of studies (for university-level exchanges), and meeting the language requirements of the host institution. Financial grants are available, covering travel and living expenses, though amounts vary by country and individual circumstances. For staff and trainees, institutions must have agreements with partner organizations, and applicants must demonstrate how the mobility experience aligns with their professional development goals. For youth exchanges and volunteering, participants must be aged between 13 and 30, and activities are organized by eligible institutions or NGOs. The program also supports cooperation projects between organizations to enhance education and training systems. Erasmus+ promotes inclusion and offers additional support for individuals with fewer opportunities, disabilities, or financial constraints. The program emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning, contributing to international cooperation and skill development across various sectors.
